Encargo: Xana / Order: Xana

Ya, ya, dos semanas sin post, no volverá a pasar, pero es que estábamos terminando un encargo antes de irnos de vacaciones unos días.

Esta semana os traemos nuestra última creación. Una Xana.

Yeah, we know, two weeks without  post, it won't happen again, but we were finishing an order before we'll go on holidays a few days.
This week we bring you our latest creation. A Xana.

¿Y que es una Xana? Es un ser perteneciente a la mitología asturiana. Las Xanas, son ninfas del bosque, mujeres de gran hermosura con largos cabellos dorados, y ataviadas con ropajes vaporosos que gustan de peinarse con un peine de oro junto a las orillas de los ríos, lagunas, etc...

And what is a Xana? It's a being that belong to the Asturian folklore, similar to the Irish fairies.
They are nymphs of the forest, women of great beauty, dressed in diaphanous robes who like combing their long golden hair, with a comb made of gold, near the banks of rivers, lakes, etc..

Estas ninfas, se dice que es más fácil verlas en la noche de San Juan y que generalmente piden favores a los hombres que las encuentran, para que las ayuden a desencantarlas, ofreciendo como recompensa los tesoros que poseen.

These nymphs, it's said that it's easier to see them in the night of San Juan, and that usually they ask favors to men who find them, so that they can help them to disenchant them, offering as a reward the treasures they own.

En este caso, el modelo es una Apple. Pensada más como una figura que como una muñeca para jugar.

In this case, the model is an Apple. Designed more like a figure than a doll to play.

Como es habitual en Bjony, no faltan los detalles en esta muñeca, como es el peine de oro que ya mencionamos mas arriba. O los hilos dorados con los que se dice, también gustaban de hilar en sus cabellos. Para hacer la muñeca aún más bonita y obtener esa apariencia de ninfa, incluimos un adorno a modo de pulsera enredadera en uno de sus brazos, así como florecitas por el vestido y una corona de flores que hacen que resalte más el aspecto místico de este personaje.

As usual in Bjony, there is no lack of details on this doll, as is the golden comb already mentioned above. Or the golden threads that is said, they liked to braid in their hair. To make even more beautiful the doll and achieve that Nymph look, we included an ornament: a bracelet vine in one arm, tiny flowers for the dress, and a flower wreath that set off more the mystical aspect of this character.

Nuevo encargo / New order

Hoy os mostramos el resultado final de otro de los pedidos que nos hicieron.

En esta ocasión nos encargaron un chico, en el modelo Peach, caracterizado tal y como se ve en las fotos.
Lleva ademas de camisa y pantalón, una chaqueta como las que se usan para alpinismo, trabajos en el mar o la nieve, en la que se pueden apreciar todos los detalles, como la cremallera en el lateral o el nombre de la marca. Esta vez tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer un calzado diferente al que estamos acostumbradas, unos náuticos en vez de unos playeros o unas princesitas. Y es algo que nos ha gustado mucho, porque siempre queremos probar cosas nuevas. Lleva también una bandolera que se abre y se cierra y que en su interior lleva otro de los pequeños detalles que nos pidieron, una cajetilla de tabaco. Todo esto completa el look de este muñeco.

Today we show you the final result of our last order.

This time, we had to make a boy using the Peach type doll.
He is wearing, besides shirt and pants, a jacket like those used for alpinism, work at sea or snow, in which you can see all the details like the zipper on the side or the brand name. And this time we had the opportunity of making another type of footwear, a pair of boat shoes instead of sneakers. It also carries a men's shoulder bag that opens and closes and that in it's interior has one of the small details that we were asked, a pack of cigars. All this completes the look of this doll.

Encargo: Floristería / Order: Flower shop

Últimamente no paramos de recibir encargos (lo que está genial), hoy os enseñamos uno de los últimos que hemos entregado, que de hecho consta de dos.

En este caso, el modelo de muñeca no fue Peach, sino Apple, la que os presentamos en el último post.

Además de la muñeca, nos pidieron que le hiciésemos un diorama a cada una, para representar una floristería, en concreto Floristería Raíces

Hace tiempo que la encargada de la tienda dio el relevo a su hijo, y querían tener algo que representara el cambio, y conmemorar tantos años de dedicación al arte floral.

Lately we didn't stop receiving orders, (which is great), today we show you one of the last that we have delivered, which actually consists of two.

In this case, the model was not Peach doll, instead we use Apple, which we present in the last post.

In addition to the dolls, we asked to do a diorama to each one to represent a flower shop, specifically Floristería Raíces

It's been a long time since the duty manager gave the baton to her son , and they wanted something that represented that change and commemorate many years of dedication to floral art.

Una de las cosas que más nos ha gustado hacer han sido los detallitos del diorama, desde el enrejado de la mesa hasta el expositor de las tarjetas.

One of the things we liked most was to do  the little details of the diorama, from the lattice to the cards exhibitor.

Y sobre todo, sobre todo, las flores, son laboriosas, pero el resultado mereció la pena.

And above all, the flowers, they are laborious, but the result was worth it.

En este trabajo nos hemos topado con objetos que no habíamos hecho nunca, como las mesas, una de las cosas que nos encantan de estos encargos, es que siempre nos presentan nuevos retos, y nunca dejamos de aprender nuevas técnicas, que poco a poco vamos perfeccionando con la práctica.

In this work we had to do objects that we had never done, like tables, one of the things we love about these orders, is that always present us new challenges, and we never stop learning new techniques, that gradually we perfected with practice.

¡Nuevo modelo! / New model!

Bueno, pues como bien dice el titulo de esta entrada, en Bjony estamos de estreno. Con el fin de ampliar nuestro catalogo, hemos sacado unas muñecas bautizadas como "linea apple".

¿Y en que consisten estas nuevas muñecas? Pues es muy fácil. Ahora mismo os las presentamos. 

Habéis leído bien, presentar, porque ¿que mejor que hacernos a nosotras para probar como quedan?

Well, as the title of this entry says, in Bjony we release a new model. In order to expand our catalog, we have created a new doll named "apple line".

And what are these new dolls? Well, it's very easy. We are going to introduce them to you.

You have read it right, introduce, because what better way to try this new dolls but using ourselves as models?

Esta es Lluvi: Aficionada a los videojuegos, es una gran fan del Estudio Ghibli, un estudio de animación que algunos dicen es el Disney japones, de ahí la sudadera de Totoro que lleva puesta. También le gusta el anime y el manga y le encanta llevar LA Gorra, que no es nada más que una gorra que lleva un personaje de la mítica serie "Oliver y Benji".

This is Lluvi: A gamer, she is a big fan of Studio Ghibli, an animation studio that some people says is the Japanese Disney, hence Totoro sweatshirt she's wearing. She also likes anime and manga and that's why she loves wearing THE cap, which is nothing but a cap that weares a character from the mythical series "Captain Tsubasa".

Jenny: Nuestra heraldo en tierras británicas. Gran fan de la serie Doctor Who y del actor Tom Hiddleston. Estas dos cosas se ven representada en la muñeca con el diario de River Song y el bolso con la imagen de Loki (interpretado por Hiddleston). Actualmente esta haciendo un tour con su miniyo por Inglaterra y podéis seguirla en su instagram o podéis buscarla por los hastag #minijeny y #MiniJennyAdveture.

Jenny: Our herald in British lands. Big fan of Doctor Who series and actor Tom Hiddleston. These two things are displayed on the doll with River Song's diary and a bag with the image of Loki (played by Hiddleston). Currently doing a tour with her minime on England and you can follow her instagram or  can search by the hashtag #minijeny and #MiniJennyAdveture.

A diferencia de nuestras muñecas de la linea Peach, que son mas detalladas, articuladas y en las cuales la ropa se puede quitar y poner, las Apple están mas simplificadas en su diseño y no se mueven, ademas de que su ropa tampoco es de quitar y poner. 

Unlike our Peach line dolls, which are more detailed, articulated and which clothes can be removed and replaced, the Apple are more simplified in design and do not move, besides that her clothes can not  be removed.

Para finalizar os dejamos con una foto del staff con sus miniyo. Ah, una cosa, ¿Veis el dibujo del centro de la imagen? Es nuestra cabeza pensante, existe de verdad, pero aun no tiene preparada su doble en miniatura y por eso no os pusimos nada sobre ella. Pero tranquilos, en cuanto la tenga, correremos a escribir otra entrada para que la conozcáis.

Finally we leave you with a photo of the staff with their minime. Oh, one more thing : see the drawing on the center of the image? It is our thinking head, really exists, but has not yet prepared its double  in miniature and so we didn't put anything about her. But stay calm, when we finish it, we'll run to write another entry so that you may know her.

Encargo: Madre e hija / Order: Mother and daugther

Hoy os traemos otro encargo, que en este caso fue doble, ya que se trata de un regalo que quiso hacerle nuestra cliente a su hija y a su nieta.

Today we bring to you antoher order, in this case a double one, as it is a present our client wanted to make for her daugther and granddagther.

Empecemos por la madre:

Esta tenia la particularidad de que la querían vestida de medico, ya que esa es la profesión que desempeña la persona a la que se le iba a regalar. Al ser de un hospital concreto, tuvimos que buscar imágenes de como era el uniforme y las tarjetas para poder hacerla lo mas exacta posible.

Let us begin with the mother:

This had the particularity that the client wanted the doll dress as a doctor, as that is the job of the one who this doll is for. The uniform and the acreditation are from a specific Hospital so we had to search photografs from the place to know how they were to make the doll the more accurate posible.

Como siempre nos suele ocurrir con los encargos, también aprendimos cosas nuevas, como el hacer el estetoscopio que todos los médicos tienen casi siempre colgado al cuello.

Like always with this kind of orders, we learn to make new things, like the stethoscope doctors and medics use to weare when working.

La peque:

Una de las cosas que tuvo este doble encargo y con el que nosotras nos quedamos muy encantadas fue que todo nos salió a la primera, excepto los zapatos de la nena (un día haremos un post sobre este asunto que tiene su miga), que parecerán sencillos, cuando en la realidad son la parte mas difícil de confeccionar. Estos tuvimos que repetirlos cuatro veces.

The child:

One of the things of this double order and which we are happy about, is tath everything was right at first try, except the little one shoes (we plan on doing a post about this) they appeared easy, but actually is one of the most difficult parts to make. We have to redo them four times till we get them right.

Como habréis podido apreciar, hemos optado por poner esta entrada (y las que vienen) tanto en español como en ingles para llegar a mas cantidad de gente.
